This is a daily journal of the Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) report on Bulacan COVID-19 cases. This is in conjunction with Bulacan COVID-19 Virus Case Bulletin where it highlights the most recent COVID-19 case using PHO data.


Aug 30 – Active at 1,298, with 2,766 COVID-19 Cases, 1,399 Recovered Patients, and 69 Deaths

The Bulacan COVID-19 still rise. However, the active cases continue to flatten. The recoveries continue to rise, with recovery rate now at 51%. This is the breakdown of the number of cases per town / city in Bulacan, sorted by the number of active cases. The 3 cities: CSJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan still have the most active cases.

Aug 28 – Active at 1,247, with 2,670 COVID-19 Cases, 1,354 Recovered Patients, and 69 Deaths

The Bulacan COVID-19 still rise. However, the active cases continue to flatten. The recoveries continue to rise, with recovery rate now at 51%. This is the breakdown of the number of cases per town / city in Bulacan, sorted by the number of active cases. The 3 cities: CSJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan still have the most active cases.

Aug 27 – Active at 1,230, with 2,643 COVID-19 Cases, 1,344 Recovered Patients, and 69 Deaths

Bulacan COVID-19 cases have started to flatten. The recoveries continue to rise, with recovery rate now at 51%. This is the breakdown of the number of cases per town / city in Bulacan, sorted by the number of active cases. The 3 cities: CSJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan still have the most active cases.

Aug 26 – Active at 1,203, with 2,583 COVID-19 Cases, 1,311 Recovered Patients, and 69 Deaths

Bulacan COVID-19 cases have started to flatten. The recoveries continue to rise to more than 50% of the total confirmed cases.

Aug 25 – Active at 1,229, with 2,566 COVID-19 Cases, 1,272 Recovered Patients, and 65 Deaths

The active cases have started to flatten. The recoveries also exceed the active cases already. Recovery rate is already at 50%. Active cases are at 1,229 and recoveries at 1,272. Deaths remain at 65.

Aug 24 – Active at 1,212, with 2,525 COVID-19 Cases, 1,248 Recovered Patients, and 65 Deaths

This is the first day that we see that there are more recoveries than Bulacan COVID-19 active cases. Active cases are at 1,212 and recoveries at 1,248. Deaths remain at 65.

Aug 23 – Active at 1,204, with 2,472 COVID-19 Cases, 1,203 Recovered Patients, and 65 Deaths

There is another increase in the Bulacan COVID-19 active cases today, breaching 1,200 at 1,204 cases. Recoveries are at 1,203 cases, currently at 49%. One new death today, bringing the total to 65 (still at less than 3%).

Aug 22 – Active at 1,173, with 2,417 COVID-19 Cases, 1,180 Recovered Patients, and 64 Deaths

There is another slight increase in active cases today, currently reported at 1,173. Recoveries are at 1,180 cases, currently at 49%. No new deaths today.

Aug 21 – Active at 1,164, with 2,396 COVID-19 Cases, 1,168 Recovered Patients, and 64 Deaths

There is a slight increase in active cases today, currently reported at 1,164. Recoveries are at 1,168 cases, currently at 49%. No new deaths today.

Aug 20 – Active at 1,112, with 2,317 COVID-19 Cases, 1,141 Recovered Patients, and 64 Deaths

There is again a decrease in the number of Bulacan COVID-19 active cases dropping to 1,112 as we see more decoveries being reported today. Recoveries are at 1,141 cases, currently at 49%. No new deaths today.

Aug 19 – Back to GCQ; Active at 1,141, with 2,262 COVID-19 Cases, 1,057 Recovered Patients, and 64 Deaths

In the public address of President Rodrigo Duterte in the evening of 17 August, he has declared that Bulacan, along with the National Capital Region and other nearby provinces, will return to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) from August 19-31, 2020.

On the first day back at GCQ, there is a decrease in the number of active cases (from 1,270 on Aug 18) to 1,141 active Bulacan COVID-19 cases. Recoveries are now more than 1,000 at 1,057. Deaths still are at less than 3%, with 64 cases.

Aug 18 – Active at 1,270, with 2,233 COVID-19 Cases, 899 Recovered Patients, and 64 Deaths

On the eve of moving back to GCQ, Bulacan COVID-19 cases are still increasing. However, it’s not at a fast pace as before. Active cases are at 1,270; recoveries at 899 (40% rate), and deaths at 64 (3%). Total confirmed cases are at 2,233.

Aug 17 – Active at 1,268, with 2,204 COVID-19 Cases, 872 Recovered Patients, and 64 Deaths

Bulacan COVID-19 cases continue to increase, though at a slower pace. Active cases are now at 1,268. Recoveries are at 40%, currently at 872. Deaths also increased further, and are now at 64.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 16 – Active at 1,212, with 2,106 COVID-19 Cases, 832 Recovered Patients, and 62 Deaths

Bulacan COVID-19 cases continue to increase, though at a slower pace. Active cases are now at 1,212. Recoveries are at 40%, currently at 832. Deaths also increased further, and are now at 62.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 15 – Active at 1,174, with 2,048 COVID-19 Cases, 815 Recovered Patients, and 58 Deaths

Bulacan COVID-19 cases have reached more than 2,000, with 2,048 cases reported to date. The number of active cases continue to increase, though at a slower pace. Recoveries increase, with recovery rate is up at 40% as of today.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 14 – Active at 1,172, with 2,018 COVID-19 Cases, 788 Recovered Patients, and 58 Deaths

Bulacan COVID-19 cases have reached more than 2,000, with 2,018 cases reported to date. The number of active cases continue to increase, though at a slower pace. Recoveries increase, with recovery rate is up at 39% as of today.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Note also that the recoveries in Marilao is now at 64% of their confirmed cases, and active cases continue to go down / increase at a much slower pace. Marilao used to have the 2nd most number of active cases in Bulacan.

Aug 13 – Active at 1,147, with 1,955 COVID-19 Cases, 751 Recovered Patients, and 57 Deaths

The number of active cases continue to increase, though at a slower pace. We are also seeing more recoveries now, with 38% of the total Bulacan COVID-19 cases already being reported as recovered. Deaths are at 57 (3%).

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 12 – Active at 1,130, with 1,921 COVID-19 Cases, 735 Recovered Patients, and 56 Deaths

The number of active cases has again went down, with twice more recoveries being reported today compared to new confirmed cases.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 11 – Active at 1,163, with 1,896 COVID-19 Cases, 679 Recovered Patients, and 54 Deaths

The number of active cases continue to rise, despite being in MECQ.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 10 – Active at 1,131, with 1,832 COVID-19 Cases, 647 Recovered Patients, and 54 Deaths

The number of active cases continue to rise, despite being in MECQ.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order).

Aug 9 – Active at 1,098, with 1,770 COVID-19 Cases, 618 Recovered Patients, and 54 Deaths

The number of active cases continue to rise, despite going back to stricter quarantine status. The active cases rose to 1,098 cases on the 1st week that Bulacan is back to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Sta. Maria, and Marilao (in this order). Note that the active cases in Marilao continue to go down. Marilao used to be the 2nd position in terms of the most number of confirmed and active cases in Bulacan.

Aug 8 – Active at 1,047, with 1,699 COVID-19 Cases, 600 Recovered Patients, and 52 Deaths

The number of active cases went down a bit after a huge increase yesterday. It now stands at 1,047 active cases; 600 recoveries; and 52 deaths.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases remains the same: Cities of SJDM, Malolos, and Meycauayan; and towns of Marilao, and Sta. Maria (in this order).

Aug 7 – Active at 1,055, with 1,665 COVID-19 Cases, 560 Recovered Patients, and 52 Deaths

* Note: The total number of active cases should be 1,053, instead of the reported 1,055. This is based on the additional 93 cases reported on August 7, in addition to the 973 confirmed cases that had already been reported up to August 6; less the 11 recoveries and 2 deaths. ACTIVE (Aug7) = 973 active (Aug6) + 93 additional – recovered – 2 deaths. This also brings us to the correct total confirmed cases for August 7 of 1,665.

Aug 6 – Active at 973, with 1,572 COVID-19 Cases, 549 Recovered Patients, and 50 Deaths

Active cases went down again, 3rd daw in a row, with more recoveries being reported than new confirmed cases. Active cases are at 973. Total Bulacan COVID-19 confirmed cases are at 1,572. Deaths remain at 50.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases are: CSJDM, Marilao, Malolos, Meycauayan, and Sta. Maria.

Aug 5 – Active at 978, with 1,560 COVID-19 Cases, 532 Recovered Patients, and 50 Deaths

Active cases went down again, 2nd daw in a row, with more recoveries being reported than new confirmed cases. Active cases are at 978. Total Bulacan COVID-19 confirmed cases are at 1,560. Deaths remain at 50.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases are: CSJDM, Marilao, Malolos, Meycauayan, and Sta. Maria.

Aug 4 – Moved back to MECQ; Active at 982, with 1,538 COVID-19 Cases, 506 Recovered Patients, and 50 Deaths

After 3 days of being moved back to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) last August 1, President Duterte has included Bulacan in the provinces that will be moved back to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from August 4-18, 2020.

Active cases went down a bit compared to yesterday, with current cases now at 982 (down from 999). Total confirmed cases are at 1,538.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases are: CSJDM, Marilao, Malolos, Meycauayan, and Sta. Maria. Note also that San Miguel has only one (1) remaining active case; and is close to getting back to COVID-free status.

Aug 3 – Active at 999, with 1,525 COVID-19 Cases, 476 Recovered Patients, and 50 Deaths

The number of active cases reaches almost a thousand with 999 reported cases. This comes with the announcement from the President late August 2, 2020 that Bulacan is included in the provinces that will be moved back to Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) from August 4-18, 2020.

The top cities and municipalities with the most number of active and confirmed cases are: CSJDM, Marilao, Malolos, Meycauayan, and Sta. Maria.

Aug 2 – Active at 988, with 1,499 COVID-19 Cases, 462 Recovered Patients, and 49 Deaths

The confirmed cases inches towards 1,500, with current count at 1,499. The top cities / towns with the most number of confirmed and active cases remain: CSJDM, Marilao, and Malolos.

Aug 1 – Moved back to GCQ, Bulacan reports Active at 964, with 1,463 COVID-19 Cases, 450 Recovered Patients, and 49 Deaths

Based on the announcement of President Duterte, Bulacan is moved back to General Community Quarantine (GCQ) due to the high increase in confirmed and active cases.

July 31 – Active at 912, with 1,386 COVID-19 Cases, 426 Recovered Patients, and 48 Deaths

Today, a record number of new cases had been reported. This has brought active cases to 912 cases. The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 1,386 confirmed, 426 recovered patients, and 48 deaths.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported one-hundred and twenty-three (37) new cases from (18) CSJDM, (17) Malolos, (15) Marilao, (14) Plaridel, (13) Sta. Maria, (13) Obando, (6) Hagonoy, (5) Balagtas, (5) Bulakan, (4) Baliuag, (4) Calumpit, (2) Meycauayan, (1) Bocaue, (1) San Ildefonso, (1) Guiguinto, (1) Norzagaray, (1) Pandi, (1) Paombong, (1) DRT.

There are nine (9) recoveries reported: (8) Balagtas, (1) Bulakan. There is one (1) death reported today from Baliuag.

No change in the top 3 cities / towns with confirmed and active cases: CSJDM, Malolos, and Marilao.

July 30 – Active at 799, with 1,263 COVID-19 Cases, 417 Recovered Patients, and 47 Deaths

Active cases in Bulacan are inching towards 800, with 799 cases. The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 1,263 confirmed, 417 recovered patients, and 47 deaths.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported thirty-seven (37) new cases from (11) CSJDM, (7) Meycauayan, (7) Balagtas, (5) Marilao, (1) Bocaue, (1) San Ildefonso, (1) Calumpit, (1) Plaridel, (1) Angat, (1) Pandi, (1) Bustos. There are twenty-five (25) recoveries reported: (20) CSJDM, (4) Bulakan, (1) Angat. There is one (1) death reported today from Bustos.

These are the top 3 cities / towns with positive cases: CSJDM (296), Marilao (135) and Malolos (133). For active cases, top 3: CSJDM (207), Malolos (108), and Meycauayan (76).

Active cases in Bulacan are now at 788. This went down with more recoveries reported today compared to the new confirmed cases. The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 1,226 confirmed, 392 recovered patients, and 46 deaths.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported twenty-eight (28) new cases from (6) Plaridel, (5) CSJDM, (4) Malolos, (3) Baliuag, (3) Bulacan, (3) Paombong, (1) Marilao, (1) Bocaue, (1) Hagonoy, (1) Guiguinto. There are thirty-seven (37) recoveries reported: (31) Marilao, (6) Plaridel. There are no deaths reported today.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported fifty-eight (58) new cases from (22) CSJDM, (8) Meycauayan, (6) Marilao, (5) Malolos, (4) Bulakan, (2) Baliuag, (2) Balagtas, (2) Norzagaray, (2) Pandi, (1) San Rafael, (1) Obando, (1) Pulilan, (1) Hagonoy, (1) Angat.

There are eight (8) recoveries reported: (4) Meycauayan, (2) Angat, (1) Pandi, (1) CSJDM. There are no deaths reported today.

These are the top 3 cities / towns with positive cases: CSJDM (280), Malolos (129) and Marilao (129) both at second, and Meycauayan (93). For active cases, it’s the same top 3: CSJDM (211), Malolos (104), and Marilao (89).

July 27 – Active Cases at 747, with 1,140 COVID-19 Cases, 347 Recovered Patients, and 46 Deaths

July 26 – Active Cases at 708, with 1,094 COVID-19 Cases, 340 Recovered Patients, and 46 Deaths

Active cases in Bulacan are now at 708. The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 1,094 confirmed, 340 recovered patients, and 46 deaths.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported sixteen (16) new cases from (7) CSJDM, (4) Bocaue, (2) Calumpit, (1) Bulakan, (1) Angat, (1) DRT. There are no recoveries and deaths reported today.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported thirty-two (32) new cases from (14) CSJDM, (3) Malolos, (3) Bocaue, (2) Meycauayan, (2) Hagonoy, (2) Angat, (1) Marilao, (1) Sta. July 24 – Active Cases at 663, with 1,046 COVID-19 Cases, 338 Recovered Patients, and 45 Deaths

The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 1046 confirmed, 338 recovered patients, and 45 deaths. Active cases are now at 663.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported twenty-four (24) new cases from (5) Balagtas, (5) Bocaue, (5) Marilao, (4) CSJDM, (3) Meycauayan, (1) Sta. Maria, (1) Bulakan, (1) San Ildefonso, (1) Guiguinto, (1) Pulilan, (1) Bustos. There are fourteen (14) new recoveries from (13) Balagtas, (1) Calumpit. One (1) new death is reported today from (1) Meycauayan.

Bulacan COVID-19 cases have exceeded 1,000, with another day of highest number of reported cases. The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 1018 confirmed, 324 recovered patients, and 44 deaths. Active cases are now at 650.

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported fifty-four (54) new cases from (15) Malolos, (12) CSJDM, (6) Obando, (4) Marilao, (3) Meycauayan, (3) San Rafael, (2) Baliuag, (2) Bulakan, (1) Balagtas, (1) San Ildefonso, (1) Pulilan, (1) Hagonoy, (1) Plaridel, (1) San Miguel, (1) Paombong. The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported eight (8) new cases from (3) Meycauayan, (2) Marilao, (2) Malolos, (1) CSJDM. There are two (2) new recoveries from (1) Paombong, (1) Hagonoy. No new deaths are reported today. The total Bulacan COVID-19 cases now is 964 confirmed, 308 recovered patients, and 43 deaths. Active cases are now at 613.

No change on the top 3 cities / towns with positive cases: CSJDM (211), Marilao (110), and Malolos (104). For the active cases: CSJDM (145); Malolos (79), and Marilao (70).

Bulacan COVID-19 cases again hit the highest number of confirmed cases in one day with fifty-eight (58). The Bulacan Provincial Health Office reported fifty-eight (58) from (18) Malolos, (9) Marilao, (8) CSJDM, (7) Sta. PhilHealth Coverage

According to their latest advisory, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) will shoulder the full cost of treatment for all COVID-19 cases until April 14, 2020. After the date, PhilHealth shall continue to provide financial coverage to COVID cases through a recomputed case rate.

Last April 7, 2020, PhilHealth President Ricardo Morales announced that COVID-19 patients who are admitted April 15 onwards will be covered by a case rate package divided into four categories.

  • Mild pneumonia: P43,997.00
  • Moderate pneumonia: P143,267.00
  • Severe pneumonia: P333,519.00
  • Critical pneumonia: P786,384.00
