30 Useful Death Announcement and Funeral Thank You Card Templates

I am writing this piece to help other bereaved families going through the pain of losing a beloved family member. Imagine the emotional trauma, but you must think straight and arrange the funeral and memorial services, process government paperwork, write a death announcement (obituary), etc.

Most of the local newspapers offer printing of obituaries for a fee. Now we get to read obituaries on Facebook. Social media is a powerful communication tool that is now highly accepted as a way to post a death announcement and wake details. Text message blast is also beneficial to reach folks who are not into social media.

In our experience, we did post my mother’s death announcement on Facebook and sent text messages about it to our relatives, neighbors, and friends. Despite that, we still received condolences from different people days after my mother’s interment, saying they were not informed about the death and wake details. Some even suggested that we should have printed it on a tarp and hung it on our gate.
